During the week of January 13 - 17, 2025 all Pines Elementary School students and staff participated in College and Career week. The week kicked off with staff and students wearing college attire and hanging their college logos on their classroom doors. On Tuesday, students watched a Google Slide presentation about Syracuse University and learned what it would be like to attend college there. We all had so much fun on Wednesday for “Dress For Success Day”, where all were encouraged to dress in clothing that represents a future career of interest. Thursday was “Community Give Back Day” where Pines Elementary School participated in a building-wide food drive to support the Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank. Mrs. DeRose, Mrs. Lombardo, Mrs. Ratner and the Student Council had a great time making our Pines Elementary Food Train out of recycled boxes. Throughout the entire week, grades K-3 were fortunate enough to have so many parent volunteers in their classrooms and share all about their careers The week culminated with Career Day, where many parent volunteers presented their interesting careers to our 4th and 5th grade students.
