Congratulations to the Smithtown-Hauppauge Boys Swimming & Diving team! On Tuesday, January 28th they captured their 3rd consecutive League 1 Championship!
Hauppauge-Smithtown won the 200-yard Medley Relay with a New York State qualifying time of 1:37.67 This relay was led by Junior Noah Hutzler of Hauppauge who swam the backstroke to capture the early lead. Hutzler was also in the 100-yard backstroke(56.20 4th place) and 50-yard freestyle(23.20 8th place). Noah was a member of the 400-yard Freestyle Relay that clinched the championship for Hauppauge-Smithtown to close out the meet.
Freshman Joseph Kaydonov took 4th in diving with a score of 182.15.
Seventh-grader, Luke Orioles, swam in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:17.97 12th place) and the 100-yard Butterfly (1:03.81 11th place).
Hauppauge-Smithtown will now move on to the Section XI Championships on February 8th at Stony Brook University where they will defend their championship.
