Congratulations to high school guidance counselor, Marisa Wanatick! Marisa was honored on Monday, October 21st, at the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB) School Hero Award Event. This award recognizes the extraordinary contributions of their school staff on the lives of Long Island students. Marisa was honored along with 21 others.
In recognizing Marisa, the following was read, “Marisa Wanatick is a dedicated and compassionate educator who consistently goes above and beyond for her students, ensuring that their needs—both academic and personal—are met with care and attention. In numerous instances, Marisa has shown her unwavering commitment to students who face significant challenges, from helping students at risk of aging out of school complete their education to providing essential resources like food and clothing to those without stable housing. Her ability to form deep connections with her students and her tireless efforts to support them demonstrate the profound impact she has on their lives. Marisa’s empathy, dedication, and selflessness make her a remarkable advocate for her students and a true School Hero.”
