On Aug. 21st and 22nd, the Hauppauge School District held its new teacher orientation, welcoming new educators to the district for the 2024-25 school year.
The district’s administrators joined the new staff for breakfast to begin the day on Aug. 21st and followed the morning introductions with presentations on safety and security, Google Workspace for education, employee assistance, special education, and more.
Day two of the orientation included both new teachers and teachers in their first years of education. After an enthusiastic welcome and some fun icebreakers, teachers delved deeper into educational tools and broke off into professional development sessions of their choice.
The trainings were led by Director of Career and Technical Education, Digital Learning and Innovation Leslie Brophy, Deputy Superintendent Joseph Tasman, Hauppauge High School Assistant Principal Daniel Wald, Hauppauge High School math teacher Jessica White, high school ELA teacher and digital coach Joanne Seale, Executive Administrator of Information Technology and Security Initiatives Dr. Christopher Smalley, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services Rebecca Bilski, Director of Secondary Pupil Personnel Services and ENL Dr. Jennifer Eastman and Director of Elementary Pupil Personnel Services and ENL Norell Young.
