Buildings and Grounds

About Buildings and Grounds

The Office of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for maintaining and managing the physical infrastructure of all district facilities, ensuring that school buildings, administrative offices, and other district properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This department supports the educational mission by providing a conducive learning environment for students and a productive workspace for staff through regular maintenance, custodial services, and addressing any necessary repairs.

Safety and compliance are key priorities, with the office ensuring that all buildings meet local, state, and federal safety regulations, including fire codes, health codes, and ADA requirements. The team conducts routine safety inspections, implements corrective actions, and coordinates emergency preparedness efforts. Additionally, the department oversees landscaping and grounds maintenance, ensuring that outdoor spaces are safe, accessible, and well-kept, including seasonal tasks like snow removal and storm damage repair.

The office also plays a significant role in planning and managing capital projects and renovations, working with professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Energy management initiatives are implemented to reduce costs and promote sustainability, further supporting the district's commitment to responsible resource use.
